Today I had a rather grump-inducing meeting with the boss. I was put on customer service full time, which I loathe doing. And was told no dice on a raise. (I seriously need another job, am looking it is just a frustrating dead end right now.)
Then my boss mentioned maybe I could transfer to another location, if I'm interested. Uh...am I interested!?!?!? Heck yes! I am all about moving around and seeing new sights. Then I did a little research on the place.
It is on the California/Nevada border in the middle of NOWHERE!! Seriously, our job site is nestled up against a mountain. The nearest gas station is 23 miles down the road, there is a small convenience store 10 miles down the road. The people on this site live in Las Vegas and are shuttled by bus in to the job every morning at 5AM. (Meaning I would have to get up at 3:30AM to get myself ready for work.) It is a 90 minute - 2 hour drive each way. The hours are 6:30A/7:00 - 3:30P Monday - Friday. I would have no life Sunday - Thursday because I would have to be gearing up for pre-dawn travel the next day. The "town" itself? A ghost town (Oh yeah, Rose, you would love it) that was wiped out back in the mining days.
Really I like adventure but that? That is too much for me to even wrap my brain around finding interesting. *sighs*
Back to the drawing board on the job search.

Where is this job? What is the name of the town? Can outsiders apply? C'mon...ghost hunting and nature? COUNT ME IN!!! Then again I can totally see your point with not wanting to move to the boonies.
The right job will come along. Hang in there!!!
I text ya, Ro! ;)
I don't want to have to travel by BUS 2 hours each way every single day...and I don't really want to live in Vegas. Vegas is great to visit, but I don't want to live there.
3:30 a.m.?
Uh... no.
