Misa and I exchanged a quick volley of tweets and decided to host a giveaway based on you telling us what is your favorite family tradition? That's it! Leave a comment between now and Friday, December 1st, for a chance to win Misa's debut novel, "Family Pieces" in either print or e-copy version.
A little bit about "Family Pieces":
What do you do when your once charmed life falls to pieces? Karsen Woods' life seems charmed from her hunkalicious boyfriend to her picture-perfect midwestern roots. Away at college, even the necklace she wears serves as a constant connection home - a family tradition created when her grandfather handmade each immediate relative an interlinking charm. Each piece crafted in the shape of a puzzle piece, each one interlinking perfectly together. But when the unexpected death of her mother turns her world upside down, she discovers there is a missing piece of her treasured family tradition and her life as she once knew it may never be the same. Addison Reynolds resides in her posh Manhattan condominium and wraps her personal identity around running Urbane, the magazine empire built by her father. In a moment of haste, Addison divulges her deepest secret to her closest friend Emily - a secret she never intended to disclose. Could one choice, one secret, bond two unlikely women forever?
This is one of my favorite books this year and I can't wait to share the love with one of you.
So, share your favorite family tradition and tell your family and friends to come on over and share traditions as well! Good luck!!
(By the way, be sure to leave me a way to contact you in case you win. :) )

Well my cousin Bud, always says "It ain't Christmas till Vicky cries.." But perhaps that is not the tradition you are looking for. I hope you have a wonderful holidays and all the puzzle pieces come together for a happy holiday!
I've heard and read such wonderful reviews. "Family Pieces" has been on my goodreads list for a LONG time. A Thanksgiving is never a complete thanksgiving without my mom's wonderful, out of this world, pumpkin bread.

Our family has a tradition of me spilling something on someone during the meal! It never fails to happen! lol
Well... since you ppl don't live by us ;) it the tradition of calling home every year to tell you happy thanksgiving/christmas/etc and letting the kids share the excitement of the holidays w/ you over the phone since we can't do it in person (hopefully next year will be different). Sure do miss Dad carving the turkey after the hours spend w/ mom and the rest of us helping make dinner (mostly mom lol)
My favorite family tradition is sitting around my grandma's living room and playing Santa, distributing all of the gifts from under the tree. Now matter how old I get, I still get to be Santa..... and the joy on people's faces opening gifts just makes me happy!
(and you know how to contact me!)
For as many years as I can remember, we would always stop at my neighbor's house on Christmas Eve to exchange a gift. Then we would travel a short distance to my dad's side of the family for dinner, etc. Christmas Day is always celebrated w/ my Mom's side of the family. Mid-day home-cooked meal, then gift exchange around the xmas tree. After all the hoopla has settled down we enjoy delicious desserts and sometimes play cards together. There is so much family time during the Holidays, I'm kinda sad when it's over :(
Tradition in my family is to open presents the night before from immediate family. (Christmas Eve night.) While stuffing ourselves full of yummy treats that my mom spends all day making.
Christmas day we have the extended family over and eat lots and lots of yummy food. It's the same menu every year. Cheesy potatoes, green bean casserole, pretzel salad, roasted veggies and a filet to DIE for in a marinade I could drink!
All in all it's a fun and splendid time!
My favorite family tradition was hot cocoa and game night on Christmas Eve ending with getting to open one present. We always got new Pajamas. Then passing that onto our own kids with the PJs part only lasting till Jr. High! LOL
Hey! My favorite Thanksgiving tradition..well, predictably engough is just having family together..and the FOOD! Once a year my mom makes her AMAZING apple pie and we have all kinds of italian appetizers..and then, at about 8:00 at night we all have turkey sandwiches with mayo, mashed potatoes, stuffing and cranberry sauce - THE BEST!!
ps. The book sounds terrific!!
