Just a little oddity...
My morning DJ's amuse me with their odd quirks. One of them is full of so many oddities that I think he is someone that I would throttle if I was his friend. As he sat there listing all his "OCD/quirks" this morning, the other DJ asked people to call in with their equally bizarre quirks as he realized he has none and wants to "shop" for something quirky to do.
Which made me think of the quirks I have, a few are as follows:
I can not stand sleeping with socks on. But beyond that, I don’t want anything touching my feet when I sleep unless it is bitterly cold and even then it is uncomfortable to me. In particular, my right foot has to be out from under the sheet.
When I eat pizza, I pick the toppings off and pile them to the side (cheese and all) and eat the crust first and then go back and eat the rest. (I actually do this with a lot of foods. Such as last night, I ate the noodles out of the casserole first, then the chicken.)
I also eat in rotation, vegetables are always ate first as I don’t want them to touch the rest of my food.
The toilet paper has to be on the roll with pulling side over. I used to change the toilet paper at work so it would be the way I wanted it to be.
I can not sleep in a quiet room. I need the radio on all night just for the background noise.
How about you? What are some of your oddities?

Things that make me happy!
"Sex and the City" marathon on TBS!! Love, love, love this series!
Jen Lancaster's hysterical book, "My Fair Lazy". Almost done. I keep dragging my feet to finish it because then it is done.
Revlon has a new line of nail polish that is scented. My fingers are painted a light pink and smell like cotton candy. Mmmm!!!
Yummy sushi at Zen 32. They serve the most delicious salad (zucchini, cucumber, carrots, and seaweed in vinegar) and the spring rolls are yummy. Tried the wasabi mashed potatoes tonight. They weren't that spectacular.
It was followed by some delicious gelato at Gelato Spot. Tonight's venture was with wild berry and oh my, it is my fave to date!
Next stop was the book store!! Oh much happiness happens in a book store. Sadly, I went away book-less. (I blame this on my sinuses draining and making me cranky!)
I had a fun chat with one of my favorite people on the way home, Rose. Plenty of laughs were had.
Now I'm home, pajamas on, watching Sex and the City with my kitty. Today was a good day.

Bed bug (Tyson Tuesday Time)
There is only one thing that I demand out of Tyson -- he needs to stay off of my pillows. I hate going to lay down and there is cat hair on my pillows.
Of course, we are talking about Tyson. He doesn't care what my wishes are. I come home frequently and find him sprawled on my pillows. He usually looks at me, stretches, and lazily meanders off.
Jerk.

Blog rec!
I have to recommend everyone read this blog: Project 29 to 30. Stephanie is taking a full year and blogging 365 things she has never done before. Not only do I have to admire her determination to stick with 365 things, but day 186 in particular has me laughing so hard I am crying. Stephanie deals with the unwelcome guest that doesn't want to leave, in the form of a squirrel.
Good stuff.
Good stuff.

Happy, Happy!
I was asked this week how it is possible I'm always in a happy, positive place. Anyone that knows me knows that is the furthest thing from the truth. I struggle through a lot of dark and negative places on a frequent basis. I just choose not to show it to the general public because it isn't something that everyone needs to deal with. Instead I look for inspiration to steer me in the right direction. And I have a whole blog on that subject alone, inspiration. But I thought for tonight I would just drop some links to some of the places that I turn to for inspiration on the webs.
The Official Not Salmon Blog by Karen Salmansohn. Karen writes some fabulous (and funny) "self help" books including the wonderful "The Bounce Back Book".
"The official site of "The Secret". This book is amazing...I'm on the third round of reading it.
Zen Habits. Some truly gifted writing.
Marci Shimoff's Twitter. She always has the best quotes on her tweet feed.
Live Creative: Christine Kane's website. I get her emailed updates and find myself saving most of them as they are wonderful.
Rev Run Wisdom. Run (from the rap group Run-DMC and a motivational speaker/reverend) offers quotes about positivity.

Purple Power!
This may not excite anyone like it excited me, but I'm getting a new phone! Verizon offered me a free phone upgrade and I jumped at it the second I was eligible. (Today.)
After a little bit of confusion over WHY it was going to be so expensive (to the tune of $154.95 before taxes a month) and finding out they had me on a FAMILY PLAN (how? why?), we got my new plan all set up and my new phone ordered:
The Blackberry Curve 8530 in smoky violet.
!!!!!
My phone is purple!! This causes much excitement for me. It will be here on Wednesday, my pretty purple phone.

Randomness running rampant.
Today is my mom's birthday party. We are grilling and having pie. (Which clearly prevents spit cake from happening when my niece asks to blow out the candles.) Yay!
And I had a delicious lunch of frozen yogurt with fresh fruit from Berrygood. (Since we don't have my beloved Pinkberry here!)
I'm getting ready to start reading "The Carrie Diaries" by Candace Bushnell. This book has a lot to live up to as it is about that fave Carrie of mine - Carrie Bradshaw.
I can't wait!
I've been tearing through the books lately, actually. I love reading and never want to find a time come up where I find that I don't have time or love for reading. I just finished Chasing Harry Winston by Lauren Weisberger and A Bump in the Road by Maureen Lipinski. Both were fabulous and highly recommended.

One, Two Freddy's Coming for you...
I went to "Nightmare on Elm Street" today. For those that don't know, I don't like horror movies. I will stop and watch horror movies on TV from the safety of my home, of course. It is something about the gory carnage that leaves me sitting there, remote in hand, mouth open, eyes bugging out in horror. It is all morbid curiosity. I do not, however, dig going to the movies in a theater. A good psychological thriller is good times for me, but not the horror movie just for the sake of the gore. I agreed to go check out the movie with Paula, however, and kept my word.
Now Freddy Krueger is actually the horror movie villain that I liked. I did really enjoy the original Nightmare movie. And I thought Robert Englund was perfect as the scarred Freddy. Oh and Johnny Depp was in the original and that is ALWAYS a good thing.
For those that have seen the original, the remake is pretty identical in the creepy factor. But this movie was horrible. At twenty minutes, I was looking at my phone to see what time it was. The last forty minutes of the movie I was going over the grocery/shopping list in my head and wishing it would just end.
The original Freddy was creepy. He had a few lines, usually very sarcastically said, and he relied on the glove of razors to intimidate. The remake Freddy talked too much. He performed monologues. I wanted him to shut up. I just kept looking at his scarred face and thinking he looked like The Mummy from the movie of the same name. (Brendan Fraser version with the oh so sexy Oded Fehr.)
Such a boring movie! I was so sad to have wasted money on it.
And...it was a good thing I didn't go to an off track betting place to gamble on the Derby today. Paddy O Prado came in third but didn't pay diddly. That was an amazing race! Super Saver came from 7th place, racing on a horribly muddy track, and won it all. Incredible. Next year I need to be there to witness this in person, wearing a big hat and all!
